This past Sunday, we had the wonderful opportunity to film with Very Rev. Father Aren Jebejian and the congregation at St. John Armenian Church in Southfield.
Part of this filming was the rich spiritual tradition of a baptism as well as watching Father Aren meet with young teenagers to have a spirited conversation about faith.
From the iconic dome structured church with a full congregation in attendance, we were inspired by the truly gifted choir led by music director, Deacon Rubik Mailian.
The Armenian community has been part of metro Detroit's rich heritage dating back to the early 1900s with the population growing to around 60,000 Armenians living in the Metro Detroit area today.
We very much look forward to featuring Father Aren and the St. John congregation in our film, Detroit: The City of Faith
